So Thankful

Sometimes life gives you experiences that leave you feeling so thankful! I've just had one of these experiences. I had surgery on Thursday to remove two large cysts, one on each ovary. I have never had surgery before other than having my wisdom teeth removed but never have I undergone anesthesia. I was told by my doctor that if the cysts were caused by endometriosis, the procedure would be to remove the cysts using laparscopy and clean up as much of the endometriosis as possible. If when they got in there and were unsure as to what it was they would take a sample out for testing but if it was cancer they would remove my ovaries, and uterus. I wouldn't know what happened to me until I woke up from the anesthesia. I have never been so scared. My mom was diagnosed with cancer at age 33 and I'm going to be 33 in November, so you can see why I might be a little nervous.
My sweet husband took time off work to take me to the hospital and even the following day to be by my side.
When I woke up from surgery I asked if I still had my ovaries. They told me yes, and that it was endometriosis. I smiled and fell back to sleep.
We have struggled with infertility for 9 years in August. None of the doctors, even the infertility specialist have been able to figure out why we can't get pregnant. We have gone through several tests all showing everything was normal. It was surprising to me that none of the doctors considered endometriosis especially since 1 out of 4 couples with infertility can't get pregnant because of endometriosis. I had all the signs and symptoms but none of the doctors looked further into it.
Kind of crazy, but I am thankful in a way because had they discovered it before I probably never would have adopted my sweet little Connor. Everything happens for a reason. And I am so thankful today!
Thank you to my friends who helped watch Whitney and brought/bringing in meals, to my dear friend who offered to take me to the hospital and sit with me through the surgery when we thought my husband wouldn't be able to come, to my mother-in-law for taking Connor and Whitney, to Josh for taking such good care of me, and for family and friends who prayed and fasted for me. Again, I am so thankful!

Can't Get Enough Pictures

With a face like this, I can't help snapping tons of pictures of my sweet little man!!
I'm sorry I havn't posted in such a long time. We have had super crazy times at the office. We suddenly lost our front desk girl and I have had to go fill in until we hired someone new. However, the new girl we hired is awesome and has picked it up super fast!!!

Fathers Day

Whitney is such a sweetheart!! She made I think it was five different cards for her dad on Father's Day.

Brian Head - Cabin Hunting

On Saturday after St. George our little family headed up to Brian Head to check out a cabin that was in forclosure. I don't know if this is the right time to be buying a cabin or not but we thought it would be fun to check it out. The cabin was nice, however, it wasn't in the best area. The roads don't get plowed in the winter and so you pretty much have to snowmobile in. The following are random pictures from our little outing.

Josh found a pile of snow and had to play on it. I don't know if you can see his shirt but it's one of the new shirts we had made up with his office logo and phone number. He's been giving them away to his patients. We think the logo turned out pretty awesome. Josh's sister, Season is a super talented graphic designer and she designed it for us. Thanks Season!!

Our little boy just LOVES his daddy!

Tuacahn

A week ago Friday we went with Josh's family to Tuacahn to see The Sound of Music.

For Those of you who have never been to Tuacahn, in my opinion, it is awesome!! The amphitheater is outdoors against the natural red sandstone cliffs of St. George. We have seen three different productions and with each production I thought the stage and background was the perfect setting for that play. I don't know if you can tell but there is a small stream in the background that actually flooded in one production completely over and off the front of the stage.
On Saturday morning we swam in the hotel pool for a little while before everyone went their seperate ways.

Lincoln Comes to Visit

Josh has one brother, Lincoln. He and his family (wife, Emily and two beautiful little girls, Lexi and Delilah) live in California and we only get to see them a couple times a year. Josh really wishes they lived closer (well, we all do). When Linc comes he goes to the gym with Josh and all I hear for days is what an animal his brother is, how he can't believe how much weight he can put up, and that the bar was actually bending because it had so much weight on it. Josh is always so sore for days after they go.This is a picture of the all the grandkids minus Josh's sister, Tacie's, kids who live in Cleveland.

The scrape on Connor's nose is actually carpet burn from when he lost his balance at the office.

Flashback Friday "Was I Ever Really Pregnant?"

It seems SO long ago and at times I have to ask myself if it ever really happened. Who am I kidding, it really was a LONG time ago!!!!! This last picture is evidence of that:)! I don't know if you can see it in the ultra sound but it's a picture of Whitney's skull. You can see her eyes and mouth after you look at it for awhile.
One month before she was born. I got even bigger! I don't have very many pictures of me pregnant and by looking at this picture you'll know why. My sister had permed my hair with a tight perm because I wanted a little body and a perm had never taken before. Of course this perm took extremely well (this is actually months after I got the perm).
I actually really liked being pregnant, not because of the way I looked but because of the way it felt. I loved feeling the miracle of having a little life inside me. Sometimes I would sit and watch my belly move up and down and try to imagine what our baby was going to look like or what it would be. We decided not to find out and to let it be a surprise, something nobody does anymore (again, a long time ago). I remember after she was born I felt a little sad that I couldn't feel her moving inside me anymore. Don't get me wrong, I couldn't wait for her to come out but there was still a part of me that missed that.
